I saw many friends & colleagues in the #sportsbusiness industry posting this challenge today!
I can never turn down an opportunity to connect with like minded individuals. And I don't like to miss out on things 😎
And for those reasons, I'm in!
#LinkedInSports Day 1️⃣: (Re)Introduction to my community.
My name is Kevin Tarca and I grew up in Montgomery, NJ. For those who need a bit more geographical guidance, that is CENTRAL Jersey.
I played basketball at Quinnipiac University where I studied finance and economics in the Quinnipiac University - School of Business. 🏀📈
My first job out of school was at a sports marketing firm where I got my feet wet with sponsorship sales as I continued to build my sports network. The next stop was at a boutique sports agency where I shifted to basketball specific talent management.
I had an opportunity to continue my education when I was accepted into a Master's Program run by Euroleague Basketball. I could not have booked my flight to Europe quicker... ✈️ 🌍 👨🎓
In the fall of 2017, I tried my best to get a job at another agency, but for whatever reason it wasn't in the cards. I took another leap of faith and decided to do what people told me would be career suicide... and Kreation Talent Agency was born.
The services offered at KTA have shifted many times since inception, but the core business remains managing the career of professional basketball players. I obtained my FIBA license and then my NBPA license, both of which have served their purposes.
I've been lucky enough to immerse myself in 38 countries around the world (and counting), and could not be more thankful for the people I've met along the way.
I'm passionate about helping athletes along their career journey. But more importantly, I'm passionate about helping athletes realize that there is more to life than getting paid to play their favorite sport. There are paths in the business world that can make you feel similar, (and possibly stronger) emotions that you feel on the court. You just have to be willing to explore that path...
Trying to summarize the past 5 years in a short post is impossible.
So I guess you'll have to tune into the next 29 days of prompts 😜
