#LinkedInSports Day 2️⃣9️⃣: What predictions do you have for athletes or the sports industry in 2023?
1 -- College sports will continue to look like pro sports.
College athletes (mostly from the highest revenue generating sports) will continue to garner more eyeballs, which means more demand, which translates to higher value. I think we'll see the "rich get richer," in terms of the amount of money the top 1% of student athletes will make.
Why? Because they can! The value of something is simply the price that someone is willing to pay. Believe me, people out there are willing to pay! The biggest X-factor here is what the NCAA will do. How they respond after the second year of NIL craziness will play a big role in their future relevance (if any).
2 -- Quinnipiac Men's Basketball will win the MAAC and go dancing for the first time!
Speaking it into existence 😎 🏀 🐯
The fellas are looking great, off to a 7-1 start this season (best in school history). I know the coaches and players are putting in the work. We have the pieces, like we've had many times. But in this conference only one thing matters -- one stretch of games during March! Keep it rolling!
