This is a monthly recap of resources that have helped me become the best version of me!
A QUOTE I love -- "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone; start being comfortable being uncomfortable!"
A BOOK I finished -- Good to Great by Jim Collins // Obviously you can't change from being good to being great overnight. This book identifies and evaluates the factors that allowed a small percentage of companies to make the transition to being great.
A PODCAST I listened to -- How to Stop Judging Yourself with Tom Bilyeu // Tom examines how to change your perspective if you feel like you have been failing. It's apparent that being vulnerable when facing a situation with a person you care about really makes a difference. Other topics include what to do when you're lost and hate your job, how to get better at whatever you want and how to overcome to fear that stands in your way to become the person you want to become!
A PLACE I TRAVELED to --
Location --> Barcelona, Spain
Reason --> Meetings with a few clubs & the Euroleague office and watched some games
Fun Fact --> La Sagrada Familia has taken 10x longer to build than the Great Pyramids!
A few ARTICLES you should read --
What the Hell Happened to Darius Miles // Getting a gun to his head at 11 years old, the rich and famous life of a 1st Round NBA Drat Pick and the rapid decline of his bank account and mental health after the passing of his mother.
How Hustle Culture Makes or Breaks Life & Health // Why are so many young people become obsessed with "getting that bread," even if it means over indulging in caffeine and simultaneous sleepless nights? The "hustle" perception is misguiding.
4 Brain Hacks to Help You Become Smarter // Start with turning on some classical music, then snack on a plate of salmon & walnuts, then personalize your workspace...
From "The Mail Man" to King of the Bayou // You may remember Karl Malone only as a 2-Time World Champion with the Utah Jazz. Much has changed since his playing days! Cigars, car dealerships, taxidermy and shotguns? An up close look at life after the NBA.
A VIDEO you should watch --
NCAA's 1st Autistic Basketball Player! // "Bennet did not sit up until he was 2. He did not walk until he was 4. He did not talk until he was 7. And did not hold a conversation until he was 8." I'll just leave it at that... Bennet, you my friend are a hero. Keep doing you!!
