This is a monthly recap of resources that have helped me become the best version of me!
A QUOTE I love --
"Climb the mountain so you can see the world, not so the world can see you."
A BOOK I finished -- Thirst by Scott Harrison // Scott tells his life story about transitioning from posh nightclubs filled with celebrities to helping isolated villages in Africa get access to clean drinking water. Talk about a change of pace! Scott is from NJ, operates with a lot of energy, and has passion for connecting with new people. So you might understand why I'm a big fan ;)
A PODCAST I listened to --
LeBron James is Still Underpaid (NPR Planet Money) // Last summer LeBron signed a 4 year $153million+ deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, not surprisingly making him one of the highest paid professional basketball players in the world. Seems like an absurd amount of money for getting paid to do his job, right? But when you actually consider how impactful his value is to an organization, he is getting way underpaid! Crazy? Have a listen...
A PLACE I RECENTLY TRAVELED to --
Location --> Chicago, Illinois
Reason --> Annual NBPA Agent Seminar & the NBA Draft Combine!
Fun Fact --> The Chicago River is the only river in the world that flows backwards! (watch)
A few ARTICLES you should read --
8 Ways to Be More Confident // I'm always looking for ways to improve, both personally and professionally. Here is a quick list of things you can do to be more confident!
The Secret Team Dinners that Built the Spurs' Dynasty // Is Gregg Popovic the world's most interesting man? Maybe. Is he one of the smartest coaches to ever grace the sidelines of the NBA? Absolutely. The culture that he has built in San Antonio is a product of many actions that he takes off the court. Breaking bread and drinking wine. Genius.
A SHOW I am currently watching --
Chernobyl on HBO // The Chernobyl disaster was a nuclear disaster that happened at a power plant near Pripyat, Ukraine in 1986. Unbeknownst to many people in the world (let alone the USA), the severity of what actually happened was far worse than what was originally reported. This series does a powerful job of explaining what happened.
